TRACEABILITY

Ensuring Quality in Every Step of Our Process

Seed Sourcing & Propagation

High-quality seeds and seedlings are sourced from certified suppliers and local seed banks to ensure varietal purity, strong germination and good disease resistance. Traceability starts at this first step: for each batch we record the origin, supplier details, seed type and batch numbers, creating a transparent foundation for the entire regenerative value chain.

Land Preparation & Planting

Farmland on smallholder outgrower farms is prepared with organic soil enrichment that builds soil organic matter and creates healthy growing conditions. Seeds or seedlings are then planted in line with good agronomic practice. Field maps and planting logs capture the date, location and farm details, ensuring full traceability from the moment crops enter the ground.

Crop Management & Monitoring

Throughout the growth cycle, farmers manage the crop through routine field activities. Sustainable practices, including organic inputs and integrated pest management (IPM), are prioritised to protect soil and biodiversity. Regular field monitoring is carried out, and records of inputs, interventions and crop performance are maintained to ensure accountability and traceability.

Harvesting

Crops are harvested at the appropriate maturity stage to ensure optimal quality, colour, taste and nutrient content. Harvesting is carried out under strict hygiene standards to minimise contamination. Each harvest event is logged with details such as date, farm, quantity and responsible workers, supporting full traceability and quality control.

Primary Processing (Cleaning, Drying & Sorting)

Freshly harvested crop is cleaned and sorted, then dried under controlled conditions to preserve colour, flavour and nutritional quality. Products are sorted and graded to remove damaged or low-quality items and to meet defined specifications. Processing records link each batch back to its source farm and harvest date, ensuring full traceability.

Secondary Processing (Grinding, Sieving & Milling)

Dried raw materials are further processed into finished formats such as powders, flakes, teas, capsules and tablets. Grinding and milling are followed by sieving to ensure uniform particle size and consistent quality. Where required, quality testing is carried out (e.g. moisture, microbial load and active components). All processing records link finished batches to their corresponding raw material lots, maintaining full traceability.

Packaging & Batch Coding

Finished products are packed in food-grade, tamper-proof packaging designed to preserve freshness and prevent contamination. Each unit is labelled with product information, batch codes, expiry dates and traceability markers (e.g. QR or barcodes). This ensures full traceability from farm to shelf, supports regulatory compliance and strengthens consumer confidence.

Storage & Transportation

Packaged products are stored in clean, dry, pest-free environments under appropriate conditions to preserve quality and safety. Inventory and dispatch records track the movement of each batch through the supply chain to wholesalers, retailers or export partners, maintaining full traceability from warehouse to final destination.

Customer Delivery & Records

Final sales records, delivery notes and customer details complete the traceability cycle. Feedback from buyers and consumers is used to continuously improve quality and strengthen trust in our products. These records also support audits, certifications, export requirements and sustainability reporting.
